Joy is a true Georgia peach! After moving from Albany, Georgia, she spent her formative years in Louisville, Kentucky where she was an active “PK” (Preacher’s Kid) who began her singing career in choirs at church and at high school/college. Her life has never been boring: she taught high school English for 30 years; raised three children (one son and two daughters); and earned three college degrees. Her love for ringing bells began more than 25 years ago. In 2008 she married her husband, John, and moved to San Antonio. She is an adjunct professor at Wayland Baptist University, an active member in the Sanctuary Choir and hand bell group at First Baptist Church (FBCSA), and a member of the Singing Women of South Texas (SWOST). In her spare time she loves to read, meet new people, appear in play productions, and play the piano.
